As a Senior Legislative Attorney for the American Medical Association’s Advocacy Resource Center, Emily Carroll, JD, provides legislative and legal support to state and national medical specialty societies on private payer practices and health insurance reforms.  Prior to joining the AMA, Emily worked as the Legislative Director at the law firm Powers, Pyles, Sutter and Verville, P.C. in Washington, D.C., representing health care, disability and employment provider organizations.  She received her law degree from Chicago Kent College of Law, a Master of Social Work degree and Certificate in Health Care Administration and Policy from the University of Chicago, and her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan.

Shelby Job is originally from Kansas City, Missouri. After moving to the Wild, Wild West in 2020, she began her journey with the Arizona Medical Association. Shelby has the privilege of directing ArMA’s Communications & Marketing department, which is responsible for the association’s communications and marketing processes, including media relations, email marketing, website management, and more. Shelby is also the staff liaison for ArMA’s Resident & Fellow Section, Communications Committee, and Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Taskforce. Prior to joining ArMA, Shelby enjoyed the rigor of event planning, executing over 200 events yearly. In her spare time, Shelby enjoys reading and writing fantasy and environmental literature, cooking up new dishes with her partner, and driving through the beautiful Arizona landscape in her 1997 Jeep Wrangler.
